While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Philippine Senator was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you." "No problem, just let me in," says the Senator. "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity." "Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator. "I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course.       In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the Filipino people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and       the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it,       it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises... The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven." So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St.       Peter returns. "Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity." The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell." So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to       hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in       rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders. "I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?" The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning ...Today, you voted." "REMEMBER TO VOTE WISELY!"

And the winner for the Best in Acting for the Lead Role is...

Now that the most awaited Awards night in the Philippines is just around the corner, let us review the possible nominees for the 2 most coveted award, the "Best Actor/ress for a Lead Role" and the "Best Actor/ress for a Supporting Role". Although the official nominess is yet to be revealed, here is my fearless forcast ...  [insert drum roll please....]

AS 1

[synopsis] A Musical "dramedy" (drama and comedy) about a "Padyak" (Bicycle with sidecar) driver wants to be the president of their Padyak driver association is about to marry a powerful Multimedia Personality who is very fond of bakya (wooden slippers). When everything seems to run smoothly even if nobody cares about their wedding, the padyak driver decided to change his plans. From being Number 1, he decided to be the Number 2 of another driver who's very fond of tying yellow ribbon on a old, oak tree. And to make the story more interesting, the Yellow drive use to have a past with the powerful multimedia personality who coincedentally a BFF of his very famous sibling.

[themesong] Two become 1 - Spice Girls

[fearless forecast] The chances of both drivers to win the awards are high due to the publicity stint they created a month ago but it may dwindle after the halloween.  But Multimedia Personality and her BFF, the Famous Sibling will definitely win an award for Best Dressed.

ala Twilight

[synopsis] A dark and mysterious film about two suckers (vampires) who for unknown reason can't say or decide anything concrete. Its a story about how to play safe and be mysterious. Even the film is still not sure if it will be submitted for nomination or not.

[fearless forecast]no forecast. The film is for special screening only as of this writing.

BOYS OVER LOREN 

[synopsis] Based on the popular Korean and Taiwan Telenovela. This film was about the popular boy band whose crazy of getting the service of the green minded Production Assistant for their Global Concert.Unknown to the boyband, this Green minded Production Assistant is also dreaming of having a Global concert. Unfortunately for Green minded Production Assistant, it seems that there are no producer who are interested of producing her show.

[fearless forecast] Its a dream team cast. and hopefully, they remain as such, a dream and not a reality.

YEAR ONE

[synopsis] Its about the first year  of the two caveman in their new office. Nothing much to see but misadventures. The story is about believing in yourself that you have done lot when in fact you haven't done anything at all.

[fearless forecast] The producer of this film is quite convince that this film will win. The producer believe it so much that there is already a series in place that will last for 6 season. But the two caveman will no longer lead the series, it will now be starred by the producer. You can expect a lot of publicity stunt to make the series last for 6 season or forever, who knows.

DRAG ME TO JAIL

[synopsis] It's a horror-suspense-thiller that revolves around frenemies (friend-enemies).

[fearless forecast] It is a flop. It may contain a lot of suspense scene but  its not really scary since we've seen this before. The sad part of it is you will be left hanging in the middle since it doesnt have any ending.  I'm not sure if it was intended to have a sequel. Though it deserve the "Best in Fight scene in a non-violence way"

The Dance Instructor's Wife

[synopsis] About a simple mother whose only passion is to wear a Channel sunglasses. She never intended to be the famous but her charming and non-chalant ways made her the talk of the town. She literally dance her way up to the limelight even outshining her ever-famous Son.

[themesong] Dancing Queen - Abba

[fearless forecast] Hands down, she will win all of the major awards even the Best in Dancing Shoes and Best in Sunglasses.

Ondoy Typhoon

Last Saturday, September 26, my beloved country, The Philippines, was ravaged by typhoon Ondoy (international name: Kestana). The typhoon brought a month's worth of rainfall in just about 6 hours causing floods reaching to 15 feet high to the country's capital, Metro Manila and its nearby provinces. There are no words that can describe what happened. I hope these pictures will give you an idea.

I wanted to post videos but there are too many to post. So I suggest to check it on youtube instead. Anyway, as of this writing, there are still areas in knee to waist deep flood. Some areas still don't have clean water to drink, no electricity and no relief goods. Due to the volume of the victims, evacuation centers are running out of supplies.

I usually post funny email, sometimes absurd. But this time I hope I was able to reach out and touch your kind heart. We need all the help we can get.
